Senior System Design Engineer & Architect
Description:
The Senior System Engineer will provide deep technical leadership to the company in the area of systems architecture, system engineering and system integration, helping to ensure technical certainty while recognizing opportunity. The mission of the Senior System Engineer is to support and enable the company’s business objectives and strategies. This will be achieved by working and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, from management to engineers to customers and researchers, to balance and ensure that Eagle is, and is recognized as being, at the forefront of disruptive airfield, aerospace and transportation technology.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for collaboratively developing and maintaining the overall system architecture and system design for product offerings consistent with business objectives, technology roadmaps, and contractual requirements.
-
Provide technical oversight and input into product development activities and initiatives.
-
Ensure that third-party development activities are adequately and appropriately defined and specified to ensure that product development is completed on time, to spec and within budget.
-
In conjunction with the project engineer, ensure that tasks assigned to a third-party developer are consistent with the capacity and competencies of that developer. As required the Senior System Engineer will cultivate new third-party developer relationships to address development gaps.

Manage Eagle’s internal team of Engineers, Designers and Technical Support Staff.

Provide subject matter expertise with respect to ongoing technical trends and developments in the area expertise, whether derived from internal or 3rd party activities.

Support Senior Management, Operations, and Program activities by informally and formally providing / sharing your technical insights, knowledge and experience.

Support the company’s business development and sales activities through ‘sale engineering.’

Support bid and proposal activities of the company by leading the in the development of technical proposals, authoring key technical volumes of proposals, and assisting the business development team in win strategies and their execution.

Provide oversight and support to the project engineer in:
-
Managing and communicating internally, and externally, system and product requirements on booked and proposed solutions.

Providing timely and accurate reporting on the status of technology and product developments.

Supporting program and product management activities by maintaining and communicating development estimates and estimates to complete.
11. Assume secondary responsibilities in other functional areas as may be

Position Requirements:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems

Minimum 10+ years systems engineering experience

Strong preference for an applicant with a Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation
